Make money by Daring to go Below the Tip of the Online Marketing Iceberg

My twenty-plus years spent marketing face-to-face, via the telephone, or by client permitted e-mail did not prepare me for the vastness of the reachable market out there on the world-wide-web.

The idea of reaching potentially millions of prospects online is very tempting and the pitches from hundreds of online businesses that boast that their product has made millionaires out of plain folk is overwhelming.

There are techniques to learn to earn that are just below the tip of the iceberg.

The ways to legitimately use video sharing sites like YouTube, social networking web sites like MySpace and Facebook, and community websites like Squidoo to make money has worked for various online businesses in the past few years.

Those businesses have figured out how to comply with the rules and still attract customers to their websites.

How and what to sell that will give you the best chance to make money becomes the question.

You can use the most popular sites to get your message out, and you can come up with your own product to sell also.

If you go it on your own, good luck, but you don’t have to reinvent the wheel to get started marketing online.

Join a company that has a proven history with its associates. Go to websites that have testimonials backed up with notarized affidavits.

If the company is aboveboard, it should be no problem for them to share proof of their associates success with you.

Becoming an associate of a company like that, and that provides extensive training, could be a good move.

Pointing the online consumer to your website so they can purchase your product is key.

 

That very “newness” of the many ways to reach and market to prospects challenges you to either become an expert at each and every one, or to learn from those who have already studied and made money from a variety of these amazing sites.

The value of your product is just as important as the marketing of it.

Remember, it takes as much time and effort to sell a ten, twenty, or one hundred dollar item as it does to sell a thousand or multiple thousand dollar product.

Find your online company by paying attention to their compensation plan and the cost of their product.

Ideally, the compensation plan should contain a better dual compensation plan than the more common Multi-Level Marketing (MLM).

Look for a company with a higher dollar product instead of the usual less than $150. product.

Just keep in mind that like any other business, in order to make money online you need to make a serious commitment to time and effort to succeed.

Find a website based company that includes training in as many online venues as possible, and a product that is worthy of spending a couple thousand dollars on and you may eventually be able to film a testimonial of success yourself someday.

Wattles’ work is considered a philosophy of Mental Science or Mind Science which may have preceded the New Thought movement. What is Online Marketing?

Online marketing is simply advertising a product or service online (on the world wide web) as opposed to in the real world of print, television and radio.

Anything that can be advertised in the real world can be advertised online. Auto companies can advertise on billboards, on television, on the radio, in newspapers and magazines as well as online with banners, through email, or on websites.

Don’t confuse “marketing” with the actual sale and taking possession of a product. The advertised product itself could be paid for either online in the “virtual” world or in the real world, just as the product itself (depending on what it is) could be delivered online to a computer or to a place in the real world.

E-books are an example of a product that could be delivered online to your computer. E-books, college courses and anything else that are in print, can be delivered online to your computer in that fashion, just as videos and music can be.

 As of the end of July 2009, the world’s population, is 6,774,690,901*. I’m not even sure how to say that!

Online marketing is as huge in its actuality and possibilities as is the population of the world, and the internet has the possibility of eventually involving each and every living human being in the world today and in the future, as long as they have access to it. Did you know that some cellular phones have internet capabilities? So, you don’t even have to have a computer to be exposed to online marketing.

Online marketing also has the advantage of lower costs in addition to the wider audience. Paid online advertising is a huge component of the advertising revenues spent online, but, just as in the real world, word of mouth is also a fact. The word of mouth online term is “social marketing” which is a way of advertising a product or service without paying for it. There are vast sources to utilize in social marketing, but that, along with the types of paid online marketing are topics for a future article.

Help Yourself

Before you can help others, you need to help yourself, whether it’s your health, your jobs, or in the wisdom you find through personal growth, and working with the right team can make or break you.

In the words of Jim Rohn, one of the world’s leading motivational speaker, philosopher & entrepreneur, “In order for things to change, you must change.”

Change is not necessarily an easy thing, but with a great support team, it can be more successful. If you have health problems, you may go to a doctor, if you need money, you find a way to earn it (hopefully) and probably with a job where you have a boss and co-workers, and you grow personally through life experience each day partly through those you associate with.

If you are not happy with your health and your current health professionals aren’t serving you to your satisfaction, you can look elsewhere. If you don’t like your job, you can find another one. If your are associating with people who are not helping you grow wiser, you could find other friends or mentors.

Think about your current team.  What are your needs?  Are your needs being met? It is helpful to write down your needs for each area, health, jobs and mentors, and see what areas are lacking.

Setting goals is essential to change. Write a list of the things in your life you want to change in each area of your life.  Break each down into do-able increments and set dates for these changes as goals. Set the goals at a level that stretches you but does not overwhelm you. Take the time to revel in your accomplishments, starting with being proud that you got your list done!

Over time, if you keep resetting goals, it will get easier to accomplish them. Life is worth more if you keep improving your situation. Give it a try. Give yourself some time now to start making a list of changes.
